On your paperwork

  • Insurance card or insurance app
  • Registration
  • Title

On the vehicle

  • Driver-side dashboard, seen through the windshield
  • Sticker on the driver’s door jamb

Which title do I have?

Clean — the usual title. The vehicle has never been declared a total loss.

Salvage or rebuilt — an insurer once totaled it. The title is usually stamped “salvage” or “rebuilt.”

No title — you can’t find it, or it isn’t in your name yet.

What counts as damage?

Only count dents, scrapes or holes larger than a baseball. Small dings, light scratches and chips are normal wear and don’t count.

Odometer can’t be verified?

If the odometer is broken, unreadable or has been replaced, mark the mileage as unverifiable. We still need your best estimate of the real miles.

About this offer

We based this number on the answers you gave about your vehicle, and for most sellers it’s exactly what they receive when the vehicle is picked up.

Our team goes over the vehicle’s details with you before pickup. If anything means the number has to change, you’ll hear it from us first, before pickup, and the choice of what to do stays with you.
